Lifts by kind

The lifts are lines tagged aerialway in OpenStreetMap. Each length was measured along the lift's mapped line; it is not the lift's official length or vertical rise. 3.8 km in all.

Pistes by difficulty

The pistes are lines tagged piste:type in OpenStreetMap and the difficulty is what the mappers wrote (piste:difficulty), not the centre's own grading. The length was measured on OpenStreetMap's lines: a piste mapped twice is counted twice, and a piste mapped as an area (no line) is not counted.

Heights and the mountain

Only heights that a source gives are shown. Most lifts carry no height tag on the map, so no vertical drop of the pistes is given.

Where it lies and which settlements are near

The municipality comes from the municipal boundaries of OpenStreetMap. Distances are in a straight line, not driving distances; on a mountain the road is usually much longer.

The page's point is in the municipality of Almopia; lifts and pistes also lie in the municipalities of Almopia and Florina.

Mountain huts and trails nearby

From OpenStreetMap. Every distance is in a straight line. This page does not describe routes, difficulty or conditions.

Hiking trails

Trails with a page on this site whose line passes within 4 km of the centre's point, in a straight line. It does not mean the trail leads to the centre or is passable in winter.

What is protected

Natura 2000 sites that cover part of the mapped lifts and pistes (checked at points along the lines). Each page describes the habitats and species of the site.

Lying in a Natura 2000 site means special assessment procedures apply to projects and activities; this page does not judge what is permitted on a particular plot.

Daylight

Sunrise and sunset at the point the map shows, for the 15th of each month, in Greek time (Europe/Athens). Calculated with the standard solar-geometry formula for a flat horizon; terrain and cloud are not taken into account. On north-facing slopes or under a summit the shade comes earlier.

What this page does not say

This page states no opening dates, hours, prices, tickets, snow conditions or season. These change every year and only the operator knows them. The lifts and pistes shown are those volunteers have mapped in OpenStreetMap: some may be missing, removed or not running this season.

How the facts were put together

The lifts and pistes are OpenStreetMap lines (ODbL, Geofabrik snapshot 24 Sep 2026, processed 10 Oct 2026): lifts tagged aerialway (chair, drag, T-bar, platter, gondola, cable car, magic carpet, rope tow) and pistes tagged piste:type (downhill, cross-country, sled). A centre groups those inside the winter-sports area (landuse=winter_sports) or within 2,000 m of it; those that belong to no area are grouped when a point of one line lies within 2,000 m of a point of another. A centre has a page when it has a name that a source supports (the map or Wikidata), a point in a Greek municipality and at least 2 lifts or 2 km of mapped piste.

The length of each lift and piste is the length of its line on the map, worked out on the original OpenStreetMap nodes; it is neither the official length nor the vertical drop. The difficulty is the mappers' piste:difficulty tag. A height appears only where a station or lift end carries an ele tag, or a Wikidata item has an elevation. The operator and website appear only where OpenStreetMap writes them; we never open an operator's website.

Wikidata has no item for this centre, so the page takes no labels or links from it.

The towns, mountains, trails and airports are pages of this site; distances are in a straight line, not road kilometres. The mountain is the nearest peak with a page within 10 km of the centre's point, huts are within 10 km and a trail appears when its line passes within 4 km. The page's point is the mapped lift end or piste start nearest the middle of the centre.
